Antarctic Expedition Leader

Rachael successfully led a year long expedition to Antarctica. There her leadership and teamwork skills were refined and put to the toughest test.

Antarctic Expedition Leader

Rachael successfully led a year long expedition to Antarctica. There her leadership and teamwork skills were refined and put to the toughest test.

She was the youngest and just the second female expedition leader to Davis Station.

Antarctica: pristine, scenic and beautiful. That's summer. Now, imagine living with your team in that place through  winter:  months of darkness, the temperature hovering around -35˚C (-31˚F), and there’s no way in or out…

Every little thing can become an issue in this pressure-cooker environment. In fact a $30M science program was nearly stopped over whether the bacon should be soft or crispy!

With great humour, insight and humility Rachael now brings the lessons she learned about leadership and teamwork in this toughest place to organisations and associations everywhere.

Virtual Events

Virtual Events

Build and maintain momentum - this is the key to keeping your team inspired through extended periods of remote working and to keep them focused and productive. Celebrate short term wins, remind them that great work today will set us up for the future. Inspire them and give them the tools to be happy and productive.

In the past, you would run an event and bring everyone together to hear and interact with Rachael. These days - we are virtual, on-line and working remotely. Yet, you can still bring your people together and virtual speakers are getting increasingly busy.

Rachael is ready to go when you are

Online Keynote

Rachael has the ability and experience to deliver her renowned keynotes to your team, from her studio to the comfort and safety of your location. The keynotes includes tried and tested tools for building teamwork such as No Triangles and Bacon Wars - critical to build resilient cultures where we don’t have the daily micro-interactions with our staff and teams.

Rachael has redesigned her keynotes to keep things snappy - with polls, surveys and live chat engagement to make the most of the tools now available through remote delivery.

On-line Leadership course

In this 12 week leadership course Rachael brings together the most important behaviours that separate leaders from managers. It does this by leaning strongly towards the "how" of leadership. Most of us know the why, and many understand the what... But after working with over 1500 teams, Rachael finds the big gap is between knowing what to do and actually doing it. This isn't because we're lazy, too often we simply don't know how.

This program is ready-to-go, making it an affordable and immediate way to keep your team connected. It can be undertaken individually or with a cohort and takes about 1 hour a session. You can get started as an individual here, or contact us for a quote for your team or organisation.

BONUS: An optional Q & A Webinar with Rachael can be added to your program - just let us know!

Do-it-yourself Workshop Kit

If you’re looking for tools to strengthen teamwork; today and online, Rachael has 3 workshops ready for your team. These self-facilitated workshops can be delivered using your own systems. We provide all the elements you need: the slide deck, a 12-15 minute video, the facilitators guide and all handouts.

No Triangles

Bacon Wars

In any team small things can become big issues. This is even more prevalent in high-pressure, isolated teams. This workshop shines a light on the behaviours that impact team morale and respect and provides a simple yet powerful framework to help you address them.

Lead through a crisis

Learn the 4 tools for leading yourself and your team through difficult times. This workshop enables leaders at work, at home or in the community to have the confidence to take the stage during a crisis, no matter what.

Leading on the Edge

Leadership   |  Inspiration

The job of a leader is to create more leaders, not more followers! This keynote explores how great leaders build and invest in those around them and turn "moments into momentum" by paying attention to the little things. This is all about showing BIG leadership in SMALL moments.

future. woman. leader.

Women   |   Leadership

How did Rachael become the youngest female leader to Antarctica, or the youngest Chief Ranger? In this keynote Rachael outlines the key personal mantras, commitments and career tools that every woman must use to progress effectively. Perfect for both women's and mixed events.

365 shades of white

Inspiration   |   Entertainment

An hilarious and compelling account of Rachael's time leading up to 120 people in the remotest corner of the earth for a year. Hear about "life in the freezer", the plane crash, how "the bacon war" nearly derailed a $30M science program and other unique stories backed by uncommon insight and useful tools.

The future of teamwork

Teamwork   |  Leadership

Today's and future teams are very different from what they once were. Now we come together quickly, remotely and are expected to perform immediately. In this keynote Rachael uncovers the critical tools she uses to quickly create cohesion, purpose and resilience in teams. Practical tools you can put to work straight away.

Change is the new business as usual

Leadership   |   Change

It's a truism, but change is the new constant. It can be unsettling, energising but create extreme fatigue. In this keynote Rachael provides the tools to navigate this world of "flux" that dominates business today.  Self-leadership, resilience, and persistence are the keys to succeeding in a world of seemingly constant change.

Remote and Dangerous

Safety Leadership   |   Teamwork

Workplace health and safety insights from the harshest, coldest, most isolated workplace on earth. Rachael recounts how she kept her team safe and sane through the long, dark Antarctic winter by building a culture of safety leadership. She provides practical tools each person can use to create leadership around them.

NO TRIANGLES

Integrity is critical to a team’s success, and the lack of it unquestionably leads to poor performance. We need simple ways to encourage the right behaviours and the tools to call out those behaviours that are counterproductive.

No triangles is the practice of conducting direct conversations when issues or problems arise. I don’t speak to you about him, and you don’t speak to me about her. If I have an issue with someone I go directly to that person, I don’t take it to a third party. Implementing a no triangles culture builds integrity in a team and ensures we treat each other with respect.

Rachael is a wonderful speaker who connects emotionally and intellectually with every member of the audience.  She is generous in sharing her leadership insights which, combined with her fascinating and unique experiences in Antarctica, create a truly inspirational and memorable story.  Rachael was an absolute pleasure to deal with, professional in every regard, focused on extracting the maximum value and tailoring her insights to the audience.  As a result, the feedback from the forum was absolutely outstanding.  Thank you Rachael!

Tara Cahill, Chief Risk Officer, Group Services, Westpac Group

If you have big ambitions, then being big on the little things as a leader is critical. The little things help the important 4 letter words—care, give, team and best—come to life. Rachael is one of the best when it comes to teaching and inspiring leaders on why little things matter.

John Gillam, Managing Director, Bunnings

Amazing! Rachael's safety messages were spot on for our team. Highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyed by all. HSE Coordinator
I have had more positive feedback about this session than anything we have done in the last 2 years. People have been quoting “bacons wars” and “no triangles” at me all day. Very inspirational. Brad Shaw, WorleyParsons Services Ltd

Rachael was a pleasure to have at our event. A crowd pleaser, she had the audience enthralled with her incredible story. She was happy to participate in a Q&A onstage and provide a few video quotes for social media afterwards. After her talk we decided we wanted to give away copies of her books to all attendees. She happily organised for 75 signed copies to be delivered to me the following week so that we could hand them out to guests. Rachael was a delight from the first conversation we had pre-event, to the end. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an inspirational speaker for their event.
